All this demonstrates is that you remain fundamentally mistaken as to the options that were available to GM at the time. Nobody else was going to help them, there were no angel investors, no banks, nothing. Therefor there was no path to Chapter 11. If the government hadn’t bailed GM out they were facing Chapter 7, total liquidation of the company, which means all assets sold at auction.
