I don’t think that was what he meant. There are moral truth and there are scientific truths. The two terms simply refer to truths in different fields.

Moral truths are intrinsically subjective, rooted in individual and most frequently dogmatic religious outlook. Questioning specific morality is questioning faith, rarely tolerated by the faithful. Ethical truths are more rule bound, sociological, analyzable and falsifiable.

The problem is obvious, when moral “truths” (I can’t even take the term seriously in this context) collide with scientific knowledge, which one must yield. It’s pretty clear which one Cruz defers to.
