Recently I saw a video where a defence analyst was asked the purpose of the F-35.

His answer? “To keep Lockheed-Martin in business.”

Pretty much. The Northrup Grumman B21 project has at least some need (the bomber fleet needs replacing) but they know damned well that if they hadn’t gotten foreign sales of the F-35 it would have been toast long ago. Given Lockheed’s history of bribery with the F-104 sales, it just makes me go Hmmm.

Just reopen the A-10 & F-16 lines instead.
