He IS open to a clean debt increase. He’s also open to a clean CR to fund and reopen the government. He’s been saying that for ages now.

It’s the GOP who keep adding all these insane demands because Boehner has lost total control of his caucus and the teabaggers think they can pull this shit.

I understand. I was responding to general sentiments expressed above that he needs to hold out for a long term debt ceiling increase.

Obama will simply repeat what he has been saying all along. He is happy to negotiate, but not when the GOP is threatening or causing defaults or shutdowns.
