Perhaps I’m becoming even more jaded as a I grow older, but this whole carnival over a multi-lateral agreement, not a treaty in the conventional bi-lateral sense nor a UN mediated multinational convention, strikes me as having much more to do with jockeying for domestic politics than anything else.

Iran may or may not ever develop atomic weapons. This multi-lateral agreement may or may not, in the end, have much to do with how that plays out.

I may be mistaken, but I thought the ” P5+1” group was the UN Sec Council (plus Germany), and that the deal was first approved-last month - by the UNSC, and that the “ratification” by the various signatories had to follow on afterwards
