‘Deep remorse’: Jenna Ellis tearfully throws Trump and Giuliani under the bus in plea

“If I knew then what I know now, I would have declined to represent Donald Trump in these post-challenges,” Ellis said. “I look back on this experience with deep remorse.”

“I failed to do my due diligence,” she added. “In the wake of the 2020 presidential election, I believed that challenging the results on behalf of President Trump should be pursued in a just and legal way … I endeavored to represent my client to the best of my ability.”

Ellis pointed a finger at Giuliani in her plea agreement by admitting she aided and abetted the fellow Trump lawyer’s “false statements” to Georgia legislators at a December 2020 hearing and acknowledged she was, “Assisting with the execution of” the hearing with Giuliani and co-defendant Ray Smith, also a former Trump campaign lawyer.
