The worst thing about Rwanda is that the murderers were armed with machetes. A company or two of mechanized infantry would have gone through them like a hot knife through butter. Clinton could have stopped the genocide and chose not to. When history finally piuts Clinton in his place Rwanda, rather than a cum-stained dress, will be the blackest mark on his Presidency.

It is hard to think of any President who deserved a blacker mark.

I would like to think that that’s what history will condemn Bill Clinton for, but I doubt it. The West has so far managed to completely ignore Africa. We didn’t stop Rwanda, we didn’t stop Congo, we are not stopping Darfur.
