I doubt they’ll lose the House, but you’re right that their margin will be greatly reduced. And those who likely pay the price will be Republicans in purple districts, the people the party leadership can least afford to lose because that means they’ll be stuck relying more heavily on the “Freedom Caucus” nutters to get shit done. Especially if Ryan wants to keep enforcing the “Hastert Rule.”
