One thing that a lot of people don’t get.

The intelligence agencies don’t work for the President; they work for the Executive Branch. That is a significant difference. Presidents may come and go, but the Executive Branch is always there.

What this means is that the intelligence agencies have every incentive to not lie. By lying to make one President happy, the agents may jeopardize their career when the next President is elected (or the current President changes his mind).

And since politicians make it a habit of blaming others for their mistakes, the intelligence communities are not about to go out on a limb.

Unfortunately, Nancy and Obama have been too willing to throw people under the bus for their political gain.
