Oh my god….I just had an epiphany.

My mom had misgivings about me joining the Army, no matter how much I tried to reassure her. I remember asking her not to go off the deep end if something happened to me in the line of duty. I didn’t want my [hypothetical] death while serving in the Army to be used as somebody else’s insturment for personal, political or financial gain…..

It just dawned on me that I was asking her not to be Cindy Sheehan if anything happened to me, nearly a decade before Cindy Sheehan hit the public spotight.
