All the shit I was taught about being good and working hard just does not seem anything but naive and quaint right now.

As I get older I appreciate the old adage of taking care of oneself.

There are many in society, and they build organizations (like churches) which sell this or that idea of what we should (or shouldn’t) do, but frankly I find most of these things useless. This probably is somewhat marxist of me, but I find religion to exist mostly to keep the masses busy and placid in light of the injustices of the powerful.
