You guys do realize that now you have me thinking about repairing/replacing the fluorescent undercabinet lights in the the apartment attached to our house ( where my Mom lived before she died.) One of the lights buzzes something fierce, and I suspect installing a new ballast would be a PITA. (I suppose I’d have to take the light down to do it anyway as it is in a very awkward place to work.) Not worth hiring an electrician because no one actually lives there now and those lights are rarely on.

I really don’t need an electrical project right now. Or do I?

As to whether you need one, that’s up to you. As to the problem, I’m glad we’ve reached the stage where LEDs are cheap, because they’re so much easier to work with.
