In FO1, there’s a nice exploit using stimpaks. The gal in The Hub (I think?) who deals in skill books. Trade stimpaks for expensive skill books, then pick pocket them back. Wash, rinse, repeat until you are satisfied.

Any stimpaks traded to her show up in her personal inventory, whereas anything else, including caps, will not.
