Really, at this point, I expect one of two outcomes from Tuesday: Obama wins by such margins that the question of recounts and provisional votes is moot, or that the margins are so close that this menagerie continues on for at least two weeks, severely eating into time to address the fiscal cliff because Congress critters on both sides will refuse to deal in the hopes that their guy will win and give them more leverage post-January.

The GOP will press it even without a serious chance of prevailing in an attempt to weaken Obama’s legitimacy. They are that sort of bastards these days.

Al Gore refused to do wo, even with a reasonable chance of prevailing because he did not want to see America’s political legitimacy threatened. We already saw what the GOP thinks of that notion over the last budget debacle…
