Listening to Jean Edward Smith’s “FDR” on audio this week. FDR responds to the forming of the 1934 version of the tea party (The American Liberty League) by calling them the “I Can’t Take It Club.”

I read the H.W Brands FDR bio. Seems to me that every president from Washington to the present has dealt with some group that can’t handle the reality of the time they live in so they lash out and bitch about a time that never was.
