I disagree simply because, even though we disagree on who or what he was - or even if he existed as a human being - we do have a coherent set of teachings that are within the boundaries of what was acceptable as a Jewish Rabbi in the time he was alleged to have lived.
True, but seen in this “historicist” context, his teachings might as well be incompatible with liberalism.
