Obama actually bought his own hype about reaching across the right/left divide. By putting a Republican in charge of commerce and the census, the left’s knee jerk reaction was to not trust Gregg. Obama then tried to make them happy by looking over Gregg’s shoulder, a move that backfired. He’s learning he can’t make everyone happy.

Gregg really wanted the job, but it was just to big a hope and change move to make. Now, both the left and right are happy that it’s politics as usual. Obama made a mistake by not defending Gregg against the attacks from the left and giving Gregg the same trust and respect he would give a Dem.
I give him a E for effort, but a fail on execution.
