That’s my family as well, going to go spend 5 days visiting them in May. Part of me is looking forward to seeing them all and given Dad’s lung cancer it’s important that I do go see them but I am not looking forward to FOX Noise being on every television or the inevitable political debates (aka shouting matches) between me and Dad that end up with us disagreeing but not agreeing to disagree.

A few years back when he was out here visiting he actually said to my Father-in-law that all liberals were traitors. I told him I guess that makes me a traitor too. He did shut up after that.

I’m still a closeted liberal. My parents may have their suspicions, but I just kinda nod and smile and let the topic of conversation wander on to something else.
