We actually haven’t had an ambassador to Venezuela since 2010. Of course, checking the list of US ambassadors, that seems to be the least of our problems… “vacant since January 20, 2017” is very busy.

Trump is too busy tweeting and holding rallies to deal with such petty things as nominating ambassadors.
