Trump’s apparently pardoned Susan B. Anthony.

Am I supposed to be moved by this? Am I going to think that this sways anyone anywhere to vote for Trump? It’s a purely hack move because we know that the symbolism of pardoning Anthony is more than offset by Trump’s refusal to change the $20 bill that was scheduled to honor Harriet Tubman. He’s keeping the racist slaver and genocidal Andrew Jackson on the $20.

Tubman was not only an abolitionist and former enslaved woman, but she became a suffragist as well.

Trump thinks pardoning Anthony somehow will curry favor with white suburbans. Doubt many will know who Anthony was (even as she was honored with a $1 coin).

But I also think it is a setup for Trump to pardon Stone. Stone has cut bait on his appeal, which would suggest that he’s about to get a pardon or commutation from Trump. It’s corruption in plain sight.

The hack-o-meter blew up like Homer Simpson taking a lie detector test after trying to assess Trump’s move to pardon Susan B. Anthony. It would be such a transparently phony gesture from basically any President. From Trump—yikes.
