Twitter is in a bind, not an ethical one, but a marketing problem: they know if they let India get away with enforcing blasphemy laws, then other nations will be in a position to try to do so as well, and that will start to negatively influence their brand.
Or they just play the numbers: Atheists are a tiny minority of the world’s population, with estimates ranging between 200 and 240 million, with most in Russia and China (and China blocks Twitter anyway).
Easy decision: Ban atheists. There are a billion Hindus in India alone.
Capitalism doesn’t care about free speech or freedom of religion.
