I agree with you.

I will say, however, that in my house, my pets are treated very well. We have paid for 3 “knee” surgeries at $1500 (or more) a pop for les animeaux.

They were otherwise very healthy, and I simply could not even consider having them euthanized because they were going to cost me some money.

My wife and I are the same way about our pets. Many Americans are.

Having said that, though, I’m sure there’s some point where any of us would agree that it’s simply too expensive. I wouldn’t pay for treatment for our dog that would require us to get a second mortgage on the house.

The people in that article weren’t refusing to pay for insanely expensive, exotic treatments, though. They were literally balking at paying for things like fixing a broken leg after the dog was hit by a car.
