I admire you for sticking to your guns— I find it really difficult to navigate the morass of shite family members can pump out, even when you otherwise agree with them.

I couldn’t handle a birther troll, for example—good luck to you with your cousin! You never know, sometimes you can change someone’s mind— if they’re arguing in good faith, of course, which isn’t the case with many wingnuts.

It’s not easy. Itt doesn’t make me real popular on that side of the family. I’m already a bit on edge with them to begin with. Lot of racism in the form of “I don’t hate black people, I hate ni-CLANGs” and the such. Posting that crap that makes it worse.

After the recent dustups, I might be avoiding their Xmas get together this year.
