You can be a moderate. You can be a progressive. But you cannot be a moderate and a progressive.

I think Bernie’s mistake on this is how it is phrased. There is nothing wrong with him pointing out areas where he differs with Hillary and arguing that his positions are better. But what he said is (a) “you” meaning (strictly speaking) … “me”; and (b) has more to do with defining rules for who gets to be in a club rather than arguing for positions.

Both of these things rub me the wrong way. Not only do I think I can be progressive and moderate, I think I

am

progressive and moderate. And I don’t appreciate someone else telling me I can’t be in the club.
