They made a musical out of BOOH. I heard some songs that they played during the commercial sounded like the muzak version.

It made me sad.

Humorously enough, a friend I shared a link to the title track with wrote me and back and she said, “WTF did I just listen to?! What is this? It’s like opera, but rock music”.

I wrote back, “Yeah, it’s called rock opera and even though “Bat Out of Hell” may not fully qualify as rock opera, it’s thematically close enough.

Stuff like that is largely unknown here. They know “Jesus Christ Superstar”, but I’ve never met anyone who’s heard the original album….the original concept album with Murray Head and Ian Gillan. Which is a shame, because that album is a damn masterpiece; the vocal performances are some of the best of all time.
