I’m in uneasy agreement on this one. You could almost make this argument for one side of my family; not Nazis, but virulently racist and proud of it. Should they have had their kids taken from them despite their horrible views?

I hate to use “thought crime” but the decision does lean perilously close to that.

On the other hand of the argument, should the parents be free to name their children “Shitheads”, “Whores” and “C***ts”? And if not (and it’s rather clear that they shouldn’t be able to do that), why should they be able to call them “Hitler”?

I think the solution is not to take away the children after the fact, but not to let parents name them in such a way in the first place. I.e. the registrar should not have put down these names in the first place.
