Buildings in Europe are so much more interesting than those in China. While some new buildings are designed more creatively, the vast majority of buildings, even private homes, look like something a kid would make with only the basic rectangular Lego blocks — cinderblock construction with a cement coating and ceramic tile exterior.

We have a new classroom building nearing completion on campus. It’s not a prize winner architecturally speaking, but glass and steel is a welcome change from white ceramic tile
and concrete.
