Their logic (and I use the term loosely) is that businesses only hire women because they’re cheaper than men, doing the same job a man could do for less and thus driving down wages. But if women left the workforce and went back to being homemakers, employers would be forced to hire men to do those jobs, raising wages overall because men doing more demanding work would demand higher wages.

Bear in mind that the morons making this argument are usually the same ones who respond to calls for a living wage with “They’ll just replace you with a robot!!!”
