Being able to say you would love to go back in live in the 50’s or whatever idealized decade really to me just shows one’s inherent privileges mostly as a white person especially as a heterosexual white male.

My cousin was born somewhere around 1940, so his earliest memories would be of America winning WWII, followed by the postwar expansion. And growing up white, he’d be prone to seeing the whole thing from a single perspective.
