Dear Target:

On the heels of your wonderful data breach (and thank you so much for that, monitoring for false charges is my favorite thing to do!), it might be smart to send communications to customers about this from an e-mail address that ends in target.com.

Because the first thing that comes to my mind when I get an e-mail from 14f4c3d40layfovcia3lqamyaaaaab2yuzjdc7h6twyyaaaaa @ target.bfi0.com is that oh yeah, that’s totally legit. Hah.

We got a dead-tree letter from them today, offering a year’s free credit surveillance. Don’t think we’ve been in their store in months, and certainly don’t want their overwatch.
