Every time the A-10 is on the chopping block, the response is always the same: identify the plane that can do the same thing the A-10 does for the same value. Every time the response is: nope, there isn’t anything.

The F-35 doesn’t have the gun or survivability in the CAS role that the A-10 does. Nothing does.

There’s a reason that the B-52 is still around. Nothing else can do what it does - range, payload, flexibility. B-2 costs many times more, but lacks payload. B-1 has speed, but not payload.
