I can’t remember who it was, but I heard a financial guru make a pretty convincing argument of how good regulations make banking much more efficient.

The analogy was how much faster you can go with good brakes!

One can argue that traffic lights interfere with our freedom of travel. Just remove them and watch how quickly gridlock sets in…
