I work in the medical field and it’s a scary thought to think that the government wants a computerized medical record. They will use it to dole out health care to the ones they think are worthy of getting care the rest will let go. It will be their way of fixing the problem.

They want it, because it will be easier for them to transmit financial and DRG reports to the government. They are desperately wanting ONE central intermediary for government reimbursements to physicians and healthcare providers. It is NOT about bad handwriting.
It will be step ONE in data basing ALL providers into ONE government healthcare system.
