Seeing a lot of talk now about movement to impeach Obama over Benghazi. If the GOP actually spends more than an hour discussing this, the mid term elections will result in Obama having House and Senate. I think independent’s have no patience or appetite for anything other than absolute focus on the fiscal cliff and the economy. I believe they will be punished severely for any attempt to divert resources and attention away from those ends.

I think it’s doubtful they’ll go for impeachment, they don’t have the power. This fiscal cliff should be the primary concern of everybody in government. This is why I’m opposed to the talk abandoning bipartisan efforts. We aren’t going to avoid the cliff without Republican cooperation. The leadership is hopefully humbled by their recent loss and might be willing to negotiate. To continue partisan frothing, scream “Fuck the wingnuts!” and drive ourselves over the cliff is just plain stupid and destructive.
