You could try bypassing the ballasts if you’re comfortable with rewriting. It doesn’t appear to be too difficult.

Interesting. I will consider it. I’m comfortable with very light electrical work. Mostly I’m good at looking at what is there, and replacing it with something new but essentially the same. Light fixtures, wall outlets and switches. That sort of thing.
I’m pretty good at following instructions, but I’d never try to add a new electrical line or anything like that.
