Our state governor ordered all hospitals to reserve 20% of ICU beds for non-Covid reasons like heart attacks or automobile wrecks.

I imagine as our state continues to surge, you’re going to see the death rate dramatically climb here.

Basically he’s picking winners and losers. He chose car accident victims over Covid victims. There aren’t enough beds in Nebraska for both.

I saw, that, and it’s a really weird way to put it. Most places will have >20% ICU usage at any time for non-C19 anyway. Indiana had 45% non-COVID ICU occupancy (C19 occupancy was another 18%) yesterday so is he saying that an ADDITIONAL 20% will be reserved? Or that they’ll allow non-COVID patients will be pushed out but only down to 20%? Crazy no matter how I parse it.
