re: #199 A Cranky One

William:
I inherited a camera and some glass from my dad. Some of it was used in Vietnam during the war, to provide a time frame.

Here are some of the lenses:

Canon FD 300mm 1:5:6
Tamron 28mm 1:2.8
Zivnon 1:38 80-205mm
Tamron 1:2.8 135mm
Canon 1:1.8 50mm

Are they usable and worth the effort to rehome?

Good morning,
I’m honestly not sure what to tell you. Canon’s old FD mount had some excellent lenses made for it but because Canon abandoned it for the EOS EF mount for autofocus cameras until recently, they were not usable for digital. Now they can be adapted to the various mirrorless cameras systems (Fuji, Sony, etc) they are still not as in demand as, say, Nikon or Pentax lenses. They’re still great pieces of glass but people aren’t paying as much for them. I’d see if the good folks at KEH ( keh.com ) would offer you anything for them.
