I guess I just don’t see the point of spending a lot of time arguing over whether the midpoint case is billions dead or hundreds of millions dead or tens of millions dead. In any case, it’s the worst thing to happen to the planet since men were sentient, it’s our fault, and it’s fixable. Beyond that, we are arguing over trifles.

Those comments from the IPCC scientist that I linked to about the uncertainties of future predictions was in regards to the actual results of warming, not whether there will be warming. That’s a given. But how we react and what we do, fist, next last, is dependent on getting the most defined looks at the future that we can.

It’s called planning.
