Ron Paul is a lousy messenger for anything. Even a statement as simple as 2+2 = 4 needs special scrutiny coming from Ron Paul.

However, the 9/12/01 party line that the terrorists attacked us “because they hate our freedoms” is BS.

Of course 9/11 was blowback. Our international actions have consequences, and one of these consequences is that lots of extremists have beefs with the US that they will act on, given the opportunity. This simple observation is in no way an assertion that these beefs the terrorists have with the US are in any way justified.
