People who have no idea what patriotism and love of country really mean (like not screaming about nullification or secession every time an elected government passes legislation they disapprove of) are also the ones who stick to external symbols associated with often outdated ideas of patriotism: flag pins, pledges of allegiance, anthems, and, of course, language.

And yes, there is nothing that any normal person could have against someone expressing their love of America any way they choose. And if they choose to do it in their native tongue, they are taking nothing away from America in doing so.
