“Smartest Guy in the Room Syndrome,” he’s used to people deferring to him and his wisdom because of the white lab coat. Now that he’s under scrutiny because he’s no longer the only guy in the room, you’re going to see more and more of these outbursts as people call bullshit.

It’s more than that. He’s lived in a right wing bubble for so long, an endless echo chamber, his every word treated like gospel, thus confirming his own warped concept of reality, he just can’t bear it when the real world intrudes. Being questioned poses an existential threat to him. His whole worldview is under attack.
