What pisses me off is that when a kid gets a “good guy’s” gun and kills him/herself or someone else, it’s always called an accident. I think that those who own guns have an obligation to keep guns out of the hands of their kids and should be prosecuted for negligence when their kids gain access to their parents’ guns and kill themselves and/or others. The “the parents have been punished enough” excuse by having their kids kill themselves with a gun that should have been secured BS should never be a reason to not be prosecuted for negligence.

That’s always something that’s bothered me when parents do things like refuse treatment for their kids, or leave them in a hot car, or similar. Sure, the parents are suffering, but their child DIED! Our children aren’t our PROPERTY, they’re our RESPONSIBILITY!
