The cameras used to image the (B&W) pages back then were not sensitive to cyan, especially one special shade used for markup pens.

Not the cameras. The Orthochromatic film used in the process.

Regular or Panchromatic film, btw, sees cyan just fine. Be sure to get the right film for your setup needs ;)
