Rove helped create the Tea Party, thinking he could control and manipulate them, but he lost control and now he’s in a balancing act of calling for reason (keeping the majority of Republicans from abandoning the party) and encouraging the vile anti-Obama rhetoric that helped build the Tea Party in the first place.

Rove was one of the first people on the right to criticize the rise of ridiculous anti-Obama rhetoric, and during a heated presidential campaign too.
