Eh, a Republican in the cabinet wouldn’t be the end of the world. Especially if it’s not one of the big seats (state, ag, treasury, defense, DHS (assuming we don’t disband it)). Giving a never trump Republican commerce or transportation isn’t the end of the world… plus it likely destroys any chance that person would have of running in 2024

Tit for tat. There were no Democrats in Trump’s ‘cabinet’ and I don’t recall any under W Bush either. I’m tired of this business where Democrats include Republican when Ds are in power and Republicans don’t include Democrats when Rs are in power.

The media and the electorate are mostly very stupid, and such things help create a perception in the feeble-minded that Republicans are the sole legitimate party. See also the FBI director always being a Republican.
