The original “Uncle Tom” (from the Harriet Stowe novel) would beg to differ. He was never as obsequious and servile as the stereotype.

Sadly, I fear many minority women view all white women as Phyllis Shafley’s. Working to uphold white men because they benefit from being on his pedestal. (pun intended).
