Grump. Attempted to replace my 500gb drive with a 1tb drive today and ran into an odd little sata cable on that dell laptop unlike any I’d dealt with before. Not quite gentle enough, I ripped it. I am now very thankful for USB booting! On chat & holding for Dell support to find the cost of the new cable.

Oh, peachy. Guess my laptop became a desktop booting from an external drive. I wonder if I can find one at digikey…
