Modern conservatism looks more and more like reactionarism to me daily. It’s not a thought out ideology. It’s a reaction to change whether that’s LGBT people, immigrants, or religious minorities. And I’d argue that it’s pretty much been that way for a long time in this coutnry.

Conservatism is about maintaining power. The modern version has decided the best way to do it is to scare people, which really isn’t all that modern.
