The entire theory of the defense’s case after today rests on the idea that Mueller has been taken for a ride by his “star witnesses” and so is coming down on them with a sledgehammer in an effort to cover for his total lack of evidence. That they both wasted his time leading him down a blind alley and now he’s so angry that he’s getting ready to send them away for long stretches at Club Fed.

“But wait,” you may ask, “how does this square with their assertions the other day that Mueller’s recommendation that Flynn serve no time meant he’d lied his ass off to avoid jail time?” It doesn’t at all, kids, but we’ve proven time and again that wingnuts are fully capable of keeping multiple contradictory thoughts going in their heads at the same time.
