Missouri was really torn apart during the Civil war. I would say the “Neo-Confederate” mentality description is very applicable.

He used the term “deep south”.
Missouri is not “deep south”, no matter how you look at it, imo.

Nor are Colorado or Michigan.

So… you can believe these incidents are a result of “deep south” thinking, or not. All I know is that these incidents did not take place in “deep south” states, which leads me to believe this sort of craziness cannot be attributed to the “deep south” alone.
